Photo degradation by ultraviolet light
                     -UV exposure decomposes "Lignin" in the surface wood cells.  "Lignin" is Mother Nature's way of holding cells together.

                    Leaching
                   -Thujaplicins and a variety of phenolic compounds naturally found in cedar "leach" out thereby causing the cedar to
    lose  its water repellienncy and lubricity.

                    Fungi
                   -Once the natural preservatives are leached out , often in a very short period of time, the colonization of wood-inhabiting
    fungi develops.

                    Moisture
                   -Moisture causes shrinking and swelling of the shake which results in deeper checks and splits.

  • High Pressure power washing/cleaning of entire roof/siding/decking, etc., to ensure removal of
    any remaining mold/mildew, algae, mold, and/or lichen.
  • Wet on Wet application of"T.W.P." 200 Series stain.
  • Additional wood repair/replacement if needed. Nail down any shingle that are loose
